This photo shows the MEAAT 240R pulverising mulcher fitted onto an Antonio Carraro TGF 9400 specialised orchard tractor. This brand of mulcher has an enviable reputation in all orchard working conditions. It has the capacity of mulching limbs to 70mm in diameter and up to 100mm if the limbs are cut into manageable lengths (300mm). It is fitted with a balanced rotor containing cast hammer type blades, is fitted with a reversible gearbox arrangement so as to allow easy change of rotation for specialised reversible orchard tractors (as found in some Antonio Carraro models), has a reversible headstock for the three point linkage (for reversible tractors) and also has fitted as standard an over-run facility fitted into the gearbox to protect the tractors that have hydraulically operated PTO start and stopping systems (eg.PTO brake). This feature is important so as not to allow the inertia of the rotor when turning to damage the PTO stop brake system when the operator shuts down the PTO drive.
Other features are the hydraulic off set facility which gives the operator another 500mm (approx) of off-set so as to allow further accessibility under the tree row in orchard situations, full length-height adjustable rear roller, front deflector guides and a superior deck density to tackle the hardest orchard jobs. |
