The New Air Serg II Macadamia Orchard Sprayer.
At long last, after a number months of testing in the macadamia orchards in the Lismore area, we are proud to introduce the new AirSerg II sprayer conveyor.

With
the arrival of the new High Volume axial flow fan from Ciclone, Italy,
our task commenced with the learning process of how this new fan behaved.
Its split air discharge backing plate which separates high speed low
volume air and high volume low speed air was a challenge.
The
end result was well worth waiting for and its performance capacities are
worth the investment compared to other styles of conveyor systems available
elsewhere.
In this photo, the AirSerg II unit is spraying in a macadamia orchard. The conveyor assembly is fitted to this Tornado TPD model sprayer. The sprayer is 2000ltr capacity, is fitted with a Catterin 165K brass head diaphragm pump, Arag electronic dump valve and Braglia ball drive valves. The AirSerg II conveyor is retro-fitted
onto this sprayer, and it can also be fitted onto many other brands
of sprayers as well.
Take note of the even distribution of the
spray laden air as it leaves the conveyor. This is possible due to
the internal air vanes which are placed strategically in the conveyor.
We have also added adjustable vanes in the conveyor as well to allow
the removal of air from one chamber and place it in the other chamber
if extra air is required. The bottom conveyors are manually adjustable
for discharge angle and they also have air vanes to distribute the
air evenly. Top conveyors are also adjustable manually for different
tree heights or alternatively, for extra cost, these adjustments
can be made hydraulically. |

| This photograph shows the new AirSerg II orchard sprayer entering a Macadamia orchard. The trees are fifteen years old and are planted 9mts x 5mts. On this trial run the unit was delivering approx. 6ltrs/tree at a travel speed of 3.4km/h |

This
photo shows the AirSerg II sprayer in an Avocado orchard. The
tree planting were 10mtrs x 8mtrs with a tree height of approx. 12mtrs.
Three
spraying speeds were used in this demonstration, i.e 3.6km/h, 3.2km/h
and 2.8km/h. |

This
photo shows a side view of the AirSerg II conveyor. The bottom air
conveyors are controlling otherwise wasted air due to the high skirt
of the trees.
The
air is ducted upwards with the conveyors which have air splitters
to capture the volume air and direct it upwards into the bottom part
of the tree canopy. This allows high air flow volume which would normally
be wasted, to assist in removing air in the tree canopy and thus
causing a' venturi effect'. This expelled air is immediately replaced
with spray-laden air resulting in excellent spray coverage.
The
rear aspect of the conveyor is angled forward, thus reducing the
discharge aperture opening, which in turn increases slightly the
terminal velocity of the air. This forward angle is also implemented
so as to 'straighten' the air flow in consideration of the forward
speed of the sprayer. |

| This photo shows the AirSerg II from a different angle. Good air flow with spray laden air delivered from quality hollow cone nozzles from either Abba Guiseppe, TXVK or Arag give exceptional droplet formation and dissipation. Volume Median Diameter averages out to be in the 100-120 micron size. |
